Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hi Everyone, Very long time lurker here. Created few accounts which always ended up being deleted for lack of activity haha.

My partner and I finally bought our first VW, a Polo 77TSI Comfortline with DSG and comfort pack. Already on the lookout for improvements though lol.

Drove a few vehicles in the class and the Polo stood out immediately. Considered the Kia Rio SLS at first, but just couldn't bring myself to buy it after driving one. The steering is very loose and the engine goes nowhere (really doubt the 103KW number and 175Nm torque).

Thanks BTJ. You might already be able to help me actually . I noticed you have the black Boavistas. Did you do them yourself or did you have a shop do the work (powder-coat or paint)?

Been looking for a set of 17 inch wheels and they are incredibly hard to find with our stud pattern. Might end up getting a set of silver ones and paint them.

Yes mate I did them myself with PLastidip, which you may or may not have seen on the forums. Basically goes on liquid, ends up a thin rubber/vinyl kinda thing that peels off when you've decided enough black, time for hot pink.

Did it in about 7 hours with 4 cans of stuff for about $100

theres some pictures and a few tips in that thread from my attempt and if you hunt around the forums there are a few more posts about Plastidip.

        Enjoy!
