i'm a longtime owner of VW's--had a 1987 VW Cabriolet (4sp manual), and a 1988 VW Jetta, both in Canada in the 1990's. loved them and had no problems.
Now have a MK4 Golf (2000)--manual 5sp, petrol, 187k. love the MK4!
