Yay it worked.( i had a few tries first)

My ride is a 2006 Caddy 1.9 TDI DSG bought from new and what a great vehicle it was. travelled all over WA southern half with one trip up north to Port Headland and camped in it also. However at 97000kms my nice little world fell apart when i had to have the Dual Mass Flywheel replaced.

Well hi there and sorry to hear about the DMF packing it in.
My partner has a 1.9 Astra diesel turbo and the exact same thing happened, but at 42000km! The flywheel in this is also found in the Saab 9-3 and has the same issue. These were recalled in Europe but not here.
I wonder if its the same flywheel VW used or infact if the whole engine is shared with VW as well with other makes in europe.
Look on ebay uk for parts, if you can try and get an uprated part. VW might charge the earth for this. Save money by doing a search yourself.
My partners car is on 90000 now and the flywheel is still going strong.
