  • VIC Enthusiastic Newb

    Hi all.
Obviously, I am new here at watercooled, so I just wanted to say hello
I joined with the intention of buying and restoring a Mk1 2 door golf, however, the one I was going to buy fell through. None the less, my intentions have not changed.
Like the title suggests, I am indeed a newb, and have never really done anything like this before, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. And anyone who could point me in the right direction has a special place in my heart .

PS I'm still looking for a mk1 to buy, so feel free to make your best sales pitch on me haha.

Hi all who it may concern

Just purchased a 1977 2 door golf (or what is left of one) for $600!! There is however a very long list for why it was this cheap... but this does not really phase me.

Most of you will probably find me quite annoying, but being new to the VAG scene entirely, and new to the idea of restoring a car, I will most likely require a LOT of advice haha.

The car was previously owned by hiho and can be found on his "WReck or Rat" thread.

My parents have already called it a "rust bucket" haha, but at least its my rust bucket.

    I'll keep everyone posted

Welcome mate. I plan to do the same thing in a year or so. Is the car running? If you give the forum an idea of what needs attention, people can chime in to lend a hand!
