Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    ACT Multifunction Display of Distance traveled

    My Tiguan shows total km since new as 7000+ which shows on the bottom left of the MFD on switch on.
    The trip (reset at fill-up) shows distance of 600+
    On the MFD toggling through the displays brings up Distance traveled as 2400+km and shows a numeral 2 in the top right which is also there for Average fuel consumption.

    The Owners Manual is typically useless in regard to telling you anything about this.
    One would assume that the distance is related to the Average fuel consumption figure.
    How and when is this distance re-set and what is it related to?

    Most people use this section as an introduction, then they ask questions in the relevant & related area...

    Use the 'OK' button to toggle between long term average & short term average (the little 1 & 2 in the top right of the display)

      Welcome!

      Short term average/distance traveled will reset if you don't turn the car on for 2 hours. The other one won't. Reset either of them by pressing Ok to display the one you want and then hold ok for 2 seconds to reset.
