Unhappy new Polo GTI user

Hi all,
I bought a brand new Polo GTI last July, and since October it rattles and grinds in third gear. VW won't do anything about it because it apparently is not a problem and does not require fixing, quoting "TPI" as their source of information, which noone seems willing to reveal.

So, I have a brand new car that sounds like rubbish.

Now lets talk resale value...

If you don't mind sharing, which dealer have you been dealing with?

Have you gone to any other dealer and gotten a second opinion?

Have you taken it up with Volkswagen Automotive Group Australia? (Head Office)

Welcome to the forum! Always good to see another Polo GTI owner here.

Head over to the 6R forum and see what the other Polo owners think. Although I'd try another dealer first, then if that fail, try VW Australia's head office.

Failing all that and if you believe you have a real problem, contact Consumer Affairs Victoria and make an official complaint. Document all correspondence with VW dealers and head office and send it to them. When CA gets involved, companies usually buckle and fix your problem. The fines that can be imposed are usually much higher than it will cost to for them to fix your problem!
