Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • WA Soon to be Passat V6 4Motion Owner !

Hi my names Phil, I like long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and.... ERRRR, wrong forum! Just joking!

Well a little about me currently a Nissan Patrol owner (read bored shi*****) but don't hold that against me and I have had three WRX's but now the time has come to grow up (just a little bit more) hence browsing the forums for some information on issues and mods for my up and coming purchase of a 2006/07 Passat V6 4motion or Golf GTi or 2007 R36 Sedan too many to choose from !

Hope to learn from all the posts maybe even buy some parts and possibly a car !

Hope one of my next posts shall be a look what I just bought.

    Thanks Phil

Re: Soon to be Passat V6 4Motion Owner !

Well I finally picked up my car a 06 MY07 Passat V6 4Motion with 128000km in immaculate condition gave her a scrub up this arvo as she had been sitting around for three weeks as the previous owners were overseas. I'm stoked and I'm looking forward to putting on a diff back exhaust to get the V6 note, Along with spraying the original rims charcoal or maybe some Omanyt 18's, lowering it on a set of eibachs or h and r's and also thinking about a new dvd/android deck too as it has not Bluetooth nor Ipod which being on the road I can't live without.

Hope to see a few of you out and about soon ! Phil

Meanwhile heres a few phone snaps after her bath today.

Thanks, Since doing 400km already, I ordered my exhaust at the local shop I am having the rear mufflers made so that they are bolt on/off and am getting a set of 2.25 straight pipes made up as replacements with some nice stainless tips, should give me the sound I am after with hopefully no drone ! I have an RAC day this week with one of the local Motorsport groups unsure whether or not I will take the Passat out for a spin but we shall see ! I am also chasing a CAI for cheap if anyone who reads this has a clear link to a CAI for a 3.2 V6 Passat then let me know.

        Thanks Phil
