  • NSW Hello from a VW Noob

    G'day guys and gals,

Well this is the first post for a total VW Noob. I'm the better half of Lacey who joined up a few nights ago. She was lucky enough to pick up her new Golf GTD (in Carbon Steel) without me as I am away working paying for it. By all accounts she loves it and I can't wait to take it for a burn when I get home in few weeks hopefully. She has stepped down from a Toyota Prado D4d Diesel as we don't get much of a chance to go off-road anymore with the kids having Saturday sport and all and my work taking all too much of my time up.

The other ride in the family is my car. It's a Bogan Wagon Commodore SSV V8 (in REDHOT). It's a very spirited ride and she never wanted to drive it because she didn't like the power too much. Well the second thing (or is that maybe the fifth or sixth thing??) she said after picking up the Golf and cursing a few times about putting the wipers on to turn left was "I think I'm going to get a speeding ticket in this".

Anyway I hope I don't get the tinkering bug too hard with this car other than the remote door opener from Carstyle4you and maybe the passenger eject seat for when I'm driving.

Can't wait to give a good drive.

    Take it easy.

      Welcome!

      Nice choice with the GTD!

I have a bogan ride as well. It's been a WIP for over 3 years though.

You'll love the low down torque in the GTD if you ever get to drive it.

Extremely jealous of both cars haha. But the GTD in Carbon Steel is my dream car. No joke im weird, id take a GTD over a supercar. I test drove the top spec TDI Golf awhile ago because they didnt have a GTD in their inventory. Even the less powerfull TDI got up and went fairly quick, and silky smooth. But congrats, nice cars!

Congratulations, you are going to love it I'm sure. I can't leave mine alone, still totally addicted after 15 months.
There is a GTD thread for some light reading....
