Newbie.. Bought a '99 Seat GTI

Heya guys, new hear and been reading up on Seats. I saw this one and fell in love with it. had to buy it so a few days later i turned up and bought it. i got it from a dealer that used it for his personal car for a few yrs. he was actually goin to pull the deal cause he then realized he didnt want to sell it..

abit of work has been done to it. has a nice lumpy cam in it now, new head. extractors. exhaust. new clutch and a heap more stuff. i love the car so much. great drive, smooth and has balls. but cause of the cam, its running alittle fuely so im thinking i need to get a piggy back system unless i can reflash the ecu.

and no, for the record, my name isnt cause i crashed cars.... its cause of a forklift accident. lol

i certainly do love it.. i think more then the last owner. im still learning about these Seats. i mistook it for a golf and was pretty much told off for it. was funny as hell. so whats the difference in the Cupras and the Ibiza's? just different name?

I have 2 in the driveway so I understand the love. A black one and a white one. As I understand it the Cupra is the 110kw 2.0 16V ABF engine as distinct from the earlier GTI that had the 2.0 85kw 8V engine as seen in the Mk 3 Golf.

plans thou. with the work that has been put into it already, bout the only thing i want done to it at the moment is a decent tune or ecu. other then that, im happy with how she is already. im told it's ready for a turbo. but im kinda putting that off for awhile.

Look inside the wheel well and you will be able to see the build sticker and get all of the details of the car from that.

Has it got cloth or leather interior? What ECU were you thinking of?

There is a lot of options for chips in the UK. AMD, TSR etc... Have a look on clubGTI, SeatCupra on IbizaOC.
And if you are on FB there is a provate group that is really good just for Mk2 ibiza's.

sweet, nice to know guys. have no idea what ecu. and very original. even has the tape deck. lol. cloth interior and has GTI 16valve on it.. ill take photos soon and post them up under my other thread in the seat forum area.

put new pics up. cause its pretty hot up here in brisbane atm, im goin to wait til morrow arvo and wash it. take some good photos and replace the ones i got up. great car. love it to bits..
