NSW Newbies to the VW bug

Just two gays guys insanely into cars. Partner and I over our lives, both 31y/o have had over 35 cars between us. Ranging from American V8 muscle to JDM cars to classic Minis and MGs. Bought our first VW a Polo MK5 2012 Candy White 77TSI. But now we want a Golf R or Scirocco R. Loving it by far our fav car we've owned. Want to start modifying it and making it go!! We are gay but can play with the rest when it comes to cars, knowledge and working on them. Hope everyone accepts us as just two more car nuts!

Not sure why that's your business? Unfortunately in many car clubs, guys like us are sometimes shunned and laughed at when we have a run etc. so because of people, I'm sure like you, we tell it like it is upfront. We are just like anyone else and into cars. It saves some face later on when two blokes drive up in a wicked ride holding hands. Hopefully this forum is above this and I won't have to explain to others about their ignorance again! Thanks

Thanks Alex for the welcome! Ya I must say we are purists in that sense and stuck to the manual, not to mention the many many forum posts everywhere saying how temperamental the DSG is. Have dealt with an SMG from BMW and needless to say will never go that route. Wanting a GTI or R here in Australia probably won't happen as the only option is the DSG....maybe they will be like North America and give us a proper manual! Haha here's for wishing!!

Really thought about it, but really really want the six speed manual ;-( so gonna put it off and mod (we say mod in Canada not sure if its the same here, modifying/tuning/upgrading) the Polo to start. Thinking an ECU flash, free flowing exhaust (want a bit more grumble), HIDs, black interior headliner, front and rear footwell lights, glovebox light, LED bulbs and DRLs, smoked tail light lenses, glowing door sills Blue led scuff plate Door sill For VW golf 6 MK6 5door for sale - Price,China Manufacturer,Supplier 1890061, black wheels and that's it for the moment lol. Should keep us busy. Also in the market for a Classic bug ATM!
