  • QLD It took a while!

    G'day all,

It has taken a while. My wife had a 2000 1800 VW Beetle and 2002 VW Beetle 1800 Turbo from new, we traded 18 months ago into a 1.2 Turbo DSG Polo which our daughter seems to have now seconded with, we also have a 2008 Tiguan 2Lt TSI, auto that has just clocked over 110,000klm and which I was going to sell but couldn't bring myself to do it! With full leather, comfort pack, tow bar and off road technology it's not a bad work drive and just about perfect to pull my boat.

I also thought I might actually start using the offroad side a little more and trick a few things op, add a bull or nudge bar, spotlights, probably LED bars and start doing a bit more research on what other options there are out in the market place.

Given I drive it every day I guess I'd be better placed with a TDI but I'd watched the Tiguan in Europe and when it finally hit the streets here couldn't wait for the TDI Auto to come along.

I've been a keen follower of some of the discussions on this site so thought it appropriate to finally take the step and register...it didn't hurt a bit!

    Cheers all

    Welcome ot the forums Johno.
Hope we see you out and about.

The main problem with the tig offroading is clearance which you can remedy slightly with taller tyres and suspension spacers.

My one gripe would be that you don't have enough VW's
