Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC New Member Intro

    Hi All,

I just purchased a black R36 Wagon for the wife after consultation with another member from here (PASHN. I went to BMW Melbourne to test drive an X5, but also test drove this R36 that was there and fell in love as soon as i sat in the drivers seat.

It is completely standard at the moment, and i was considering spacers and springs to have a nicer stance however now i am considering wheels + springs.

Looking forward to picking everyones brain on the best way to go with things - i come from a BMW background and have aftermarket and OEM parts well sorted, however it seems a bit more difficult to source aftermarket parts (such as exhausts) for the R36 for a competitive price.

    -Liam.

Thanks very much! I'm currently trying to get some more knowledge for some stance mods.

BBS wheels and some KW K3 Coilovers. If you really want some stance bag it, but bags are for Groceries.

Welcome to the forum Liam, enjoy your stay. It's nice to see a fellow forum member from E46fanatics on here sharing the love for VAG cars now, so I'm keen to see what you do with the R36. Enjoy it in good health. You seriously have one epic garage now - R36 + E46 M3= WIN

When you get a chance check out Dino's R36 it's in very good condition and he has modified tastefully and just right. There are plenty of exhaust options for the R36 ranging from Supersprint, Evolve Technik, Arqray, IPE and Bastuck. If that doesn't tickle your fancy then have a look at first doing a muffler delete and see what you think.

Got any pictures to share with us?

Just do research on coilovers, width of wheels, offsets etc. I'm sure a few blokes from here can help you out.
