Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hi guys (and girls?),

Planning to purchase a Golf R and wanted to get the goss from people that OWN these cars, not just peeps with uninformed opinions. Not sure whether I can wait for the new shape or just bite the bullet and purchase an MY12 or MY13... cheers.

Welcome to the forum. The current R is amazing machine, I'm sure that the new one will be even better, it means you have to make your own decission. If money is not a problem and you have the car to drive in the meantime, then I would say wait for a new one.

I'm driving a Mazda 3 MPS at the moment so no screaming hurry to buy one..just keen to go AWD - drove the rex, evo etc but none had a patch on the Golf R plus the new model looks like it will be a ripper..more modern lines with a few more ponies to add to the equation. I think the only way I will buy a current one is if the price is irresistable.
