Hello all. I am thinking of purchasing a new Polo 77TSI. I live just south of Newcastle on beautiful Lake Macquarie. It's not heaven, but you can see it from here.

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I did want to mention that I am a little uncomfortable with the prospective purchase of the Polo. Having looked far and wide at small/medium cars, the Polo spec is a clear winner. It is by far the best car I looked at. My favorite car from the past ws a 90 model Nissan Pulsar Q. Had the car in the family for over 18 years and it was a ripper. The Polo specs are very similar (but with more torque) which is another attraction. The six speed manual gives an excellent drive. I have got on to a deal for $18990 drive away. This represents excellent value. My only concern is that VW have a reputation for unreliability and high servicing costs. Would current owners be kind enough to indicate if my fears are unfounded. Thank you in advance.
