Hey guys my name is Josh new to the site and the whole VW crowd

I currently drive a Fg xr6 turbo and I am looking for a second car for the mrs

I think I have settled on the mk v golfs wanting desiel and auto (mrs can drive manual)

Looking to spend between 10-12k for something with about 110 -160 Kms

Anything I should be looking out for when buying dog issues ect

What is considered to many Kms in these things

Hey mate, welcome to the Forum!

The Comfortline and Pacific DSG Diesels are what you'll be looking at for that price range in the MkV format. Don't bother going MkVI as you'll have to double your finances for it.

If you're only looking to spend 10-12K on it, it'll be looking in the high amount of KM for them. Most, if not all models worth that much in your spec will have over or around 150,000KM on the clock.

As for how many KM, it all depends. Anything above 100,000 can have issues with timing belts, pumps, etc. If this is going to be a long term investment, you may have to up your budget a little more to get something that will hopefully be worry free. With a Golf, you never know what's around the corner.

Check to see if they've had their major services done. If not, I wouldn't touch them at all. A lot of things can go wrong when you enter that six figure KM mark. Make sure you take them for a drive as well. I'd personally be going for the first one as it's the lowest K's and the newest model.
