  • VIC New to the whole VW thing

Last week I purchase my first VW. It is a Brand New MY12 VW Tiguan Pacific. I opted to get the manual and was lucky enough to have a "Limited Edition" model in the showroom with 45km on the clock. The car is the Pepper colour and managed to get a pretty good oprice IMO with the Comfort pack, 18 inch New York Wheel package (due to a Contract stuff-up on the dealers behalf ), Media Connectivity Package, and I got them to throw in Weathershield, Carpet mats and a Tint as the usual extras.

Previous to this car I have only owned Aussie built cars but have liked the looks of the VW's, The biggest thing that scared me off them was the servicing prices. I was initially looking at a Mk5 GTI but with the influence of the Misses we went the SUV.

I cant see us doing too many changes/mods to the vehicle as it is a Brand new car and not wanting to void the Warrenty of it. But a couple things I can see myself doing would be to add Mud Guards to stop stones flicking up the car, scratching it and maybe changing the RCD310 for the RCD510. Later on down the track i would like to give it a tune as the Turbo lag will get to me eventually.

So far I am very happy with the car and you can see some of the finer details to the vehicle as opposed to some other vehicles. In the end it was a toss up between this and the Hyundai IX35. I am more then sure i made the right choice.

Looking forward to doing a bit of searching throughout the Forum, but it has already been handy to me.
