Hi peeps, I'm a newbie here but not a newbie to the VW family! My mum had a Mk 2 GTI when I was in primary school and I fell in love! My dad bought me a Mk 3 VR6 when I finished school which I wrote off (oops!) and replaced with a Mk 4 GTI and later upgraded to a Mk 5 GTI when I left uni. I'm now a Beemar man (current drive is a 135i coupe and wifey has an X5 40d) but I bought my mother a Mk 6 GTI DSG this week and have rekindled my soft spot for Golfs!
