  • BT Advice - 2011 147TSI with RCD510

    Hi,

    I just purchased a 2011 147TSi Tiguan today - very happy!

I have a question I'm hoping someone on here can help me with as you're all incredibly informed (mind boggling to a new Tiguan owner like me....).
Ok so the car has a RCD510 unit but no bluetooth. VW have quoted $1800 (Australian dollars) to install the premium BT kit and I think $750 (or thereabouts) for the basic BT kit. The basic kit seems like a pointless waste of money but VW are saying there is no voice control option with the premium kit (extortionate price for not a lot of features). I want to run the BT through the MFD and touchscreen display (the car has a MFSW) so my question is whether it is possible to install voice control BT and run the BT through the touchscreen etc somewhere else? Can anyone recommend anywhere in Sydney that does this? Is it even possible to do this? I don't want a separate unit sitting on the dash, I want to integrate this all into the touchscreen and MFD.

I really appreciate any help and thanks in advance & sorry if this is an obvious/boring/idiotic question.

If the Tiguan behaves the same as the Golf you can purchase the premium kit from carsystems.eu or Ebay for $300-$400 and follow one of the DIY installation guides or find a member (or dealer) willing to help with installation for a fee. Final part of the installation process requires connecting the car to a PC so you can tell the car what new features it has, a number of members have VCDS and can help with this.
