Newbie looking to Sell a 2005 GTI but the airbag light is stuck on

Is there a way to get the airbag light to go off without purchasing a scanner or going to a dealer to reset it?

your going to need a scan tool mate no way of resetting without one usually wiring under the seats for side airbags high resistance in the wiring plugs cause the light to come on just a matter of cutting the plug out and repairing the wires then deleting the fault with the scan tool. also the scan tools going to let you know wot the fault is may just be a fault for a flat battery logged in the airbag very rare for airbags to fail usally always in the wiring or the slip ring clock spring in the steering
