  • Hi All

    Greg from Perth WA,

Got a couple of VW's a 118TSI manual 2009 that the better half drives, and a recently purchased 3.2V6 4motion Passat Wagon, 2006 with only 40,000km and in perfect condition, prety impressed with it, country run to Albany on the south coast coming up soon.

The Golf has been perfect and the passat as well so far, just wanting to get a handle on anything to watch for on the passat and also what if anything is worth doing performance wise, nothing radical, just improvements. It does have 18's on it which makes me think it may have a sport kit?? But maybe just spekked that way, I know 17's were the standard I believe.

Spotted this forum doing the usual google for info....

    Cheers

    hi Greg, welcome aboard.

Are you passionate about cars, or just here for a bit of due dilligence?

Thanks, Its time to spend on cars that is the struggle, we both enjoy driving and the better half comes from a motor sport family so plenty of history. Both our fathers are mechanics. I am keen to see what can be done to improve both cars, and the Golf would be the easier by looks, just a bit wary of the stress on the motor given some reports around, in relation to the Passat better intake and exhaust would be the more obvious choices, but I was keen to properly understand is a change of the ECU was worthwhile, recomended. We keep to 98 fuel and quality oils and servicing.
