Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • No more MK1???

Hi everyone, name is Ben and i've had a few Golf's in my time. First was a '76 Mk1 5door which was followed much later on by a Mk3 VR6 3 door (i'm from NZ). Then I had a Mk4 GLE which was a POS....and at the same time got myself a '78 Mk1 3door which has had a 1.8 inj conversion.

Unfortunately i'm too busy to do anything with it and i'm thinking of selling - i bought it over 3 years ago and even though i started out with good intentions, never ended up driving it....ever!

Soooo...i'm now deciding whether to keep or sell to someone that will give it the best treatment. It needs some work although probably not major. I really want to be able to get it roadworthy and go the whole hog, but time right now is against me!
Working...
