Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW hey guys NEED ATTENTION WITH VR6

hey guys ill just let you know whats happened to my car.. spewing that its really come to this but i've done a stupid thing and lost the only key for my mk3 vr6 95 model. I've been researching the fact that its meant to have a transponder in the key which will only allow it to start up because of the immobilizer.

IS there a cheaper way to get it started possibly with a swap over of such components e.g. ignition barrel coil pack ecu and what not or just to get the key ordered which is like 800.....

Hey, This is really a section for first posts not really technical section. Maybe if you posted in the mk3 people might be able to help you out. I thinks probably going to cost a lot more to have the ignition barrel, ecu and all other related components installed and working as your still going to have to buy a key for them. Unless you can find a wrecked mk3.
