    Hi from Canberra!

Just introducing myself and my ride:

A red 2004 v5 Bora 5MT purchased 3 months ago riding on OEM Bravo's with 130k on the clock.
Just finished installing some Audi TT pedals today.

    Great forum! Cheers guys!

          Thanks Anthony!

it was one of the cleanest examples I could find in NSW/ ACT.

The Bora is my second car; I previously drove a 2001 XC Barina 3 door - hand me down from mum and now belonging to my younger sister. I lopped on some 15" wheels last June (pic below). That thing was so chuckable around corners and is IMHO more dynamic and had better power/ weight ratio than some new light cars. The 1.4 was rev happy and made the right noises above 3500rpm; much much better compared to the lethargic whine of a Mazda2. I do miss that car.

After the Barina (aka Opel Corsa), my shopping list consisted almost entirely of Europeans 4 doors:
Astra; E46; 156; Megane; 406; Accord Euro and every iteration of the Bora.

The 2.0 felt underpowered and the vr6 too expensive to run on a student budget. Chased after a private import 150hp diesel Bora I found lurking the streets, but in the end, the owner was too fond of it to sell.

I really wanted an Alfa - still do! But I had to be sensible.

In the end it came down to the E46 318i vs the v5.

The v5 had heaps of torque low in the revs and I loved the deep throaty burble from the exhaust. The 3 handled beautifully but alas, no power and the styling looked dated. The Bora has aged gracefully and as dylan8 pointed out, has a bit of Commo stance. Check out my thread, pondering the possibility of putting on some HSV rims:
