  • Looking for help with coding 9w7 bluetooth to RNS510

Hi all, I have a MK5 GTI Stage 1 and a 09 Passat R36 Wagon (White Instruments) with RNS 510 with Reverse Camera System. As I bought this car second hand, it did not have a Bluetooth system in it. After a lot of research, I bought a 9w7 system from VAG NAVISYSTEMS in Spain. It arrived on Tuesday. All went well with the fitting. I installed the unit under the driver's seat and I got the guys at VW to install the mic in the overhead console. But when it came to coding it, the guys at VW tried for about and hour but it wouldn't code. They said that their VCDS system wouldn't recognize the bluetooth unit and the code in the instructions had too many letters and digits. Has anyone else had any difficulties coding their 9w7 wit the RNS 510.

You can't code the 77-Telephone module until you tell the 19-CAN GATEWAY module that the car now has a telephone module.

Have a look at Page 12-13 here to see what I'm on about:
Installation and coding instructions, some information might be out of date, but still useful if combined with newer info.

I installed my own bluetooth unit and coding was quite literally the easiest part (if you have access to VCDS anyway). See here for help: http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...elp-27504.html

Thanks for your reply Ryan. 77 was ticked in the CAN Gateway. I think the VW VAG tool at the dealership was the problem. I got a RossTech VCDS and was able to code the 9w7 easily. The problem I have now is it comes up with a fault code saying open circuit on the mike and my iphone recognises the VW PHONE but when I try to pair it, I get a message saying "Make sure PIN code 882827 (code changes every time) is shown on"VW PHONE" "CANCEL" "PAIR" and then I get a message saying Pairing Unsuccessful Make sure VW PHONE is turned on, in range, and is ready to pair. Fault Code below:
