Gday.Names Joe.I'm driving a Golf Mvi GTI with 20,000 on the clock & a Polo GTI with 19,000 on the clock.I've had these cars since new,the golf in Feb 2011 & the Polo in March 2011.I'm on different forums but really enjoying this one as I've learned heaps unfortunately by VW owners problems. The golf has run without any problems but the polo has let me down a few times, the 1st time was when driving the car home to the Illawarra from McGragh in Sutherland the day of the Japan Tsunami. The Polo engine only lasted 110 kilometres when it decided to just stop, resulting in no power steering & wooden breaks which nearly resulted in injuring my family. It least the handbreak still worked which saved us.Anyway VW Australia apologised, but their duty of care is to look after the dealership so they they replaced the motor & told me that I should be greatfull.Thats after buying 2 cars of them & the profit they made on my tradeins.I will speak of other run ins with VW Australia on other occasions but just wondering if any one knows the quantity of oil required for an oil change in the Polo.I think its 4.1 litres.I'm getting the oil done every 6 months with Liqui Molli 4200 which I can buy for $231 for 20 litres & its VW approved(504-507).Any way if some one knows the amount of oil for the Polo much appreciated.Cheers

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,
