Does anyone on the forum recommend Exedy clutch kit found one for $315 compared to $450 for VW OEM?

No idea about the exedy, but you can get an OEM one for similar or less than $315 from some of the local aftermarket suppliers.

What engine is yours?

I got a 210mm SACHS kit with the large input shaft disc for $300ish a couple of months ago. You can get them cheaper

The LUK ones are sometimes cheaper.

Try Tooleys, HSY or quite a few others. good luck.

It is the 2E engine thanks for the info I am looking forward to getting it sorted.
