Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC newbie looking for SEX (VW bora 4motion)

    Hi all,

So, after years of driving Peugeots... 306 Gti6, 206CC and 406 Coupe all cars have been written off (not by me) and are just not the fun they used to be if you buy another one.

So now, I'm looking at getting a VW. Probably a Bora 4motion or Jetta TDI.
Would love some advise as I tried a couple and they had what seemed to be major issues.

    Look forward to reading!

Good choice! I was about to sell my Bora 4motion but my wife and I decided we love its understated elegance so much that we'll run it into the ground. My plan is to use it for baby duties for a couple of years, and if we have more kids then I'll buy the wife a minivan or something and begin proper modding of the Bora..

Another reason why it's so good is there are lots of enthusiasts on this and other forums that can help you out. There are also heaps of cheap aftermarket/genuine parts from the USA, UK and Germany.

I see you've looked through some threads and glad they've helped stop you from buying a dud.

My advice: If you're not in a rush be patient. I'm sure the perfect Bora or Jetta will pop up for a good price if you wait. Then once you purchase, don't look anymore because a more perfect Bora or Jetta will pop up for a better price.
