Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Hi All

    Joined today to find some info on Skoda Octavia Scout. Had mine since March and went in for the first service today 15000Kms

    Seen links to here from Briskoda and came to check out.

    My first (holiday) job was baking the bakelite onto VW Beetle windscreen wiper rotors at a factory in Elizabeth St, Melbourne in the early 60's!

    Bought a VW Passat new in 1996 and had a good run with it until it was written off!

    Bought a used Skoda Scout 103TDi DSG 2011 this year.
    Just did Sydney to Melbourne averaging 5 litres/100km at true 110kph (from Garmin GPS). Very restful drive on cruise control. The torque of the diesel means it goes up hills without loss of speed and without kicking down (unlike my previous V6 petrol). Very happy with the quality and comfort as well as the amazing economy!

    Member of Briskoda as well, but VWwatercooled probably more relevant to me.
