Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Hi all newbie from Melbourne ;)

Hi people. My names Vanessa,.yes, im a girl
Just a quick intro, i have an interest in alot of things, also including cars. I own an 06 MKV Golf 2.0 TDI in BMP,. Owned it for almost 6 months used as my everyday ride,.. learnt from a few ups n downs with owning a dub, re; spares, vw dealers, prices\quotes and customer service... Good and the bad,.and taking things apart\breaking bits n putting it all back together. My grandfather was a mechanic all his life and a reputable spray painter and beater so I'm partly qualified in that area. Done a few mods on the exterior and interior, never was a fan of leaving something standard when it could look a tonne better. So far,..Added an r32 rear bumper\valance with a custom y pipe, 2.5" exhaust tips\back box delete\r32 rims 18"zolders,r32 sideskirts, Gti front bumper,Wolfsburg edition grille, valeo euro style dark cherry red\led tails, Gti headlamps,R32 steering wheel, full leather R32 interior (heated)kufatec seat looms,15% tint all round. "R" tailgate badge, that's all for now but,..
Will be lowering it asap, r32 pedal set, sunroof, and maybe adding r32 front end,.minus the xenons I'll be adding some pics of my car soon, and making new addition threads here and there when I have some more money to waste. Slowly slowly hope you enjoy my car.

Hahaha! That's great to know... Don't wanna step on anyone's toes tho shall be interesting to see how far other ladies have taken their mkvs to,. I'll just look n learn for the time being... Although I do want to chip mine, I'd like to know if any of you guys have had any good experiences with workshops re; chip... And the performance afterwards\cost. I think I was looking into a place that specializes in euro cars somewhere in airport west.. Any info on that would be great

There's a bit of into on ther forum about chipping the TDI's.

Have a bit of a search and I'm sure you'll find it.

(I don't have a mkV so I can't really point you in any particular direction!)
