Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • QLD Ordered New VW Passat 118TSI Yesterday 4 June 2012

    Hello All

Traded-in my 2006 Jetta Diesel (DSG) for a new white Passat 118TSI with Park Assist 2 yesterday. "She Who Must Be Obeyed" would have preferred a smaller car, but the Park Assist 2 option was a convincing enough point to get a "large" car.

I live in Brisbane and got a good changeover deal on the Passat from Bryan Byrt Volkswagen. My Jetta had 86,000kms on the odometer, and with the the current VW Australia sale I took the opportunity to trade up. The Jetta had been an excellent car and , apart from regular services, it never saw the inside of a garage for any type of repair or adjustment. Hope the Passat is just as good.

Can anyone point me to a posting which discusses the availability of after-market LED Daytime Driving Lights for the Passat? It appears that the standard DRLs are incandescent. Any help will be appreciated.

    Cheers
    MattD

    Welcome to the forums Matt
Hope we can get you out to some of our events and that the Passat treats you as well as the Jetta did.

Welcome to the forum! Lucky the Passat isn't "too" big but I'd love to see the park assist 2 in person sometime!

Any particular options on your car? What colour? You can purchase generic LED strips for your car as I don't think they've made anything model specific for the new Passat. TMTuning and ECS Tuning have some good alternatives for this Good luck!
