Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Just need some advise as we have just purchased a GTI 2012 for the first time. What should we do since its a brand new car? I know there is a manual that advises us on what to do but I want to know what everyone's opinion is.

We are going on a road trip in the GTI soon....just worried about the "new" factor in the car.

    Any help will be appreciated.

welcome mate, i love the gits, great cars
I probably wouldnt take it on long trips for the first 2-3k kms and in that time start stop traffic is actually good for it. Id get the oil changed fter 2-3k kms and drive it a bit harder than normal in that time
There is heaps of info on the net, just google it
