Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Out of the RX8 and into a Polo GTI

As the title suggests i have recently sold my RX8 and moved into a more practical and much more economical Polo GTI. The RX8 was a lot of fun to drive hard. Day to day though it wasn't so good- all of the power is found above 7000RPM and to get there one must flout the road rules. Polo GTI is a lot more fun in real life circumstances- overtaking, tight cornering etc. I'll be feeding off everyones good advice in the Polo 9N section

    Another convert.
Welcome, they have plenty to offer and with a few light mods, it can kick in below 3k rpm.

See you in the Polo pages

Nice another Rotary owner welcome , i had me a few rotaries including a manual RX8 great handling drivers car but does need a above average driver to get the most out as you have to keep the engine on the boil due to lack of Torque .

The Polo GTI is better suited for point and steer type of driver i guess and as a daily

I now have a 2002 FD RX7 Twin turbo love my rotaries as well as a Polo GTI for a daily one thing they both have in common they both use a bit of oil the polo using way more than the rotary lol
