Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • WA Out of a Golf, into a Scirocco

Yesterday I went to show my husband the Scirocco, and the long-coveted white one was sitting on the showroom floor. No option but to buy it, I'm afraid, so it's goodbye Golf TDi and hello Scirocco R. Should be arriving at the end of this week, so am ready to hit the mid-life crisis as well as the highways!

Googling some of the specs, I found this forum, so thought I would join because I think I will need some help with some of the more esoteric features. Already I have a better idea of the automatic kerb function and its issues. Note that in WA they don't let prospective buyers take the car for a test drive - it has to be bought subject to satisfaction with the car once it is registered, etc. I can't imagine what they are going to do if I say that I hate it! Is this possible? Feeling nervous now I've said this.

Anyway, looking forward to exploring all the forums and perhaps some conversations.

    Sue

Thanks Gareth, I really appreciate the invitation, but Sundays are always filled with caring for my elderly parents at this point, so I probably won't make it. I would, however, like to come one day, so please keep me in touch with the activities.

Now, as to sitting in (test driving?) the car - where do you live? If you are close by we could aim to meet so you can have a look (and I can admire your Audi). I live in Claremont, but work in Joondalup, so you might be close to either of those spots?

      cheers

        Cheers

(Just saw your reply, keep an eye on the Events sections - we are trying to get something happening every couple of months )
