Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    WA New mk1 owner in Perth

    Hey everyone,
    I've recently moved to Perth from the U.K and have always had mk1 golfs over there, so after a couple of months of looking I have managed to find one in W.A.
    I'm sure some of you must know the car,it's a '81 beige south African 5door.
    It's not the prettiest thing in the world at the moment but hopefully with some help from you guys I should be able to find the parts I need.
    I plan to make it to the get together on the 27th and look forward to meeting some of you and checking out the W.A scene.

    Ahh hah.. Joff, Andy told me you were coming over... other than finding a Mk1 hows it going ??
    Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

    If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

      It's all going pretty good thanks Grant.Lovin Perth.Its definetley different to Dronfield/chesterfield!
      I knew it would be tough to find a mk1 in W.A but didn't think they were this rare!
      I'm already missing Andy's expertise and parts stash and I've only had the car since Sunday!
      I'm in need of quite a few parts for the car,hopefully you can help me out?
      Be good if you could pm me your number.
      I swore I wasn't going to get into old VW's when I got over here....The sickness must be worse than I thought!
