Hey all
I have just purchased a VW Golf GLS 1979 off email, the guy I have brought it off told me about this site, the reason I have brought the Golf -
Well in April I competed in the *****box Rally where we had to drive a car worth les than $1000 to Cairnes from Melbourne in days all to raise money for Cancer Council. For the last trip chose a 1980 Fiat 131, yes it made it !!! over all it was a great car, brought for $600 on ebay and club rego, all I had to do was replace the alternator ( which we made a XF falcon one fit ) worked out alot cheaper. At the end of the rally you donate your car to the cancer council and they auction it off to raise more cash.
So fast foward, in 2013 my wife and I will be raising more money and driving from Adelaide to Ayres Rock then Fremantle, most of the driving in off road, there where 120 cars last year an we raised around 850k as a group, we raised $7600 towards that total
So this is what the Golf is for always had a soft spot for the Golf, I have a SS hatchback Torana, V6 Capri, GT AE82 Corolla and a race prepped Gemini, and my favorite a Mini Moke, so this is my only chance for the wife to let me add a Golf to the family
anyway I will keep you guys posted on how we are going, our fundraising page will be up soon on www.****boxrally.com.au so now we have to iron out any bugs and start fundraising for our departure around April 2013
