Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    SA Hi - Mk2 GTI

    Hi all,
    I've recently acquired my first VW, a 1991 GTI 8v in red.
    I love the car and am using it as a semi-daily driver at the moment.
    I dont know much about Golfs but am keen to learn.
    I'd describe its condition as "good original" with the exception of the engine, which was rebuilt about 3k ago, and the gearbox, which I think is on its last legs!
    Anyway, Hi to all fellow Golf enthusiasts and everyone else besides.

                          Hi all,
                          Thinking about selling my GTI and keen to hear from anyone who might be interested.
                          The cars in good original condition as described in the first post in this topic BUT the gearbox has crapped itself and will need to be replaced (gearbox housing has a crack in it).
