Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • QLD Hey

Apparently i have to introduce myself here.

Anyway the missus just picked up a 2012 3Dr Golf 6 GTI in Carbon Steel. Looks sweet, drives great, has the 18" Detroits. Have started doing a few mods. APR Stage 1 Tune, Carbonio Intake Stage 2, APR engine mount insert, Reso delete. Exhaust and APR Stage 2 tune to come.

Currently looking for a Catch Can that fits the Aust. model GTI's(the charcoal canister is mounted where it seems most catch can kits go.) If anyone can help with this that would be great.

    Welcome mate.
Hit up Greg Roles (on teh forum here or via carformance) for catch cans as i believe he has what you need.

Sounds like you have already done quite the mod list to the wife's car.
Hope we can see you out and about at some of our events.

How are you finding the engine mount?

Engine mount is great. Not a lot of vibration induced. However wheel hop has been greatly reduced, which is fantastic. Only happens on occasion, and a _lot_ less violently now. It was very bad, especially in the wet, even with the 100% standard car before the mount insert was fitted.

Events sound like fun! My GF loves the car and was wanting more power after about a month so we gave it a little upgrade =). Much more fun now, which is great because i get to drive it on the weekends I love to mod things, and im a diesel fitter so pretty cluey... I'm sure there will be more to come.

Props to Prestige and Performance who did the APR gear, at an excellent price. Very friendly, great service. Highly recommended.
