Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC New VW Bora Owner and new to these forums

    Hi All

Found this site I think from Whirlpool car forums. Really enjoying reading the forums as it’s a great source of information being a newbie and never driven anything VW before.

Recently I purchased a VW Bora 2003 V5 IJ. Black with black leather seats and one owner (so I'm the second). Near perfect condition and only done around 95Ks

I have to say after driving mainly Japanese cars I really love it! I love the solid clunk of the door when it’s closed. Feels a lot different to my old car that was kinda like driving a beer can.

And the extra power is great

Yes,the Bora is great, and many prople have updated from one to a newer Jetta,so perhaps you too will be with VW for a long time.

What was your previous car ???

    Welcome here...

      Hey Anthony

Yes would have also loved a Jetta but finances are tied up with other projects.

Prior to this I had a Mitsubishi Lancer GLXI 2001, was a good car but also was a coupe so did get over the 2 doors. Not great when its raining and you have people wanting to get in and out of the back seat lol.
