Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Welcome dodobird.
You should be able to bring eggs back from the supermarket without them breaking them now. (Evo X to Jetta)
I have a 2 year old Jetta 1.6 TDI with DSG 85,000 ks and a 19 year old (since new) Lancer GSR 350,000 ks which still flyes.
Love my Jetta; hope you'll feel the same about yours.

Wow! Thanks for the warm welcome guys!
My Jetta whom i call Ariel is Platinum Grey in Colour. She's a Beauty!

And no! I do not have children. I'm not even married yet. LOL!
I decided to change my taste in cars from JAP Imports to Continental. Give you that Build quality and solidity which cant be found in jap cars.

So far i am enjoying and loving the ride. Comfortable, Classy, Practical. My evo was just too low to clear alotta humps, a bit too stiff that it gets uncomfortable. Depsite having less power, im starting to appreciate and enjoy this jetta more then the evo due to its refined nature in comparison!

              Now for the important questions:
              1. Guys! I'm a total noob when it comes to volkswagens. What Mods can i look at for the 118 DSG jetta? I'd love to get a nice sounding catback exhaust or something. Any recommendations?

              2. I'm looking for a decent reliable car mods workshop to look for basic mods ( small things like Gauges or floor mats, intakes, ) etc. And am currently also searching for a good Lightings workshop. I'd like to change my lights to HID or a 4300k white light bulb. And the daytime running lights as well to LEDs if possible.

All advice is much appreciated from you Bros.

How is the DSG in the Jetta compared to the Evo X SST?

I find that the DSG gearbox seams to be smoother in changes compared to the evo SST gearbox. Just feels more silky smooth. The SST can still have slight jerks sometimes.

RampAutoGroup seems pretty impressive from their website.. Definitely will go check them out. Hows their pricing like relative to others? Pricey? Average?
I'll head down tomorrow and check it out.
