NSW VW Golf Wagon MY2010 MK5 owner checking in!

Hi all, I've been a VW fan for quite a while (since my parents bought their first Golf about 10 years ago). I previously owned a 2002 Bora, which I loooooooved, but I recently updated it to a VW Golf Wagon in preparation for the arrival of a new baby (we needed something that could easily hold our two big dogs, some luggage, our baby and us!)

In general I'm really enjoying the Golf Wagon. However, an alarming thing has happened a couple of time — all four windows have gone down by themselves twice while the car was unattended (overnight).

The first time it happened I was so alarmed I just held down the "lock" button on the keyfob to roll them all up again.

The second time it happened, I thought to check whether the doors were still locked (as I thought that might have excluded the possibility that I could have accidentally rolled down all four windows using an extended "pocket press" of the unlock button on the keyfob -- though I've since learned from the guys at Whirlpool that the doors auto-lock themselves if not opened after a keyfob unlock anyway, so perhaps that's not a valid assumption.)

Indeed, the doors were still locked (deadlocked in fact, so fortunately passers by couldn't open the doors by reaching in and opening the door from the inside.)

Has anyone seen this behaviour in their VW? Is there anything I can do, or do I essentially just have to take it back to VW for checking?

I saw some threads online about resetting CCM controllers etc.. but none of the threads quite matched my problem of the windows going down by themselves while the car is unattended.

Hi There!!

I saw this thread and I registered so I coud reply to it. This is exactly what happened to me. We upgraded to a wagon to accommodate dogs, babies, etc and now we have had two nights when the windows went down by themselves.

Unfortunately, the last time was on Saturday night and on Sunday afternoon the car died 5 mins from home. The warning lights came on to say something was wrong with the gearbox and then it just packed up. It is about 2 years old. It's currently at the shop awaiting diagnosis.
