Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    NSW About to become a proud dad of a CW Scirocco R

    HI all in the world of VW Watercooled,

    I'm Mark and new to this forum/group. I found this site via a mate of mine who recommended it once he knew I had ordered a Scirocco R. I have enjoyed reading through some of the posts, and there are some really helpful tips.

    I ordered my Candy White Scirocco R with DSG, Pana roof, SatNav and Dynaudio back in November - the delivery is finally really close. Latest estimate is that I will be able to collect it this coming Thursday (29 March). I am really looking forward to getting my first VW, and a really cool looking one at that.

    Not much planned for it initially, apart from tinting the front side windows. Will think about changing the wheels or painting them once I make a decision about the best option.

    There are not that many 'Rocs driving around Sydney yet, so it is fun to keep an eye out to see what people have done to the ones that are out there.

    I look forward to reading many more posts over the coming weeks/months.

    You will absolutely love the scirocco.

    All i ever want to do is drive the damn thing....everywhere!

    What are you thinking on wheel options or colour options for your stock wheels?

        Thanks for the good wishes and welcome.
        I am thinking of either changing the standard wheels to be gunmetal grey - am not convinced about changing the wheels to be black wheels. Alternatively I do like the TSW Nurburgring wheels in gunmetal grey, or the Rotiform Monoblock BLQ in silver. Not sure if I can get the Rotiform in Australia though.
        I also think the VMR Wheels V718 would look great on the Roc, but again, doubt I can easily get them in Australia.
        Only 4 more sleeps I think ....

          Got the call today, I can collect the new beast on Friday afternoon. That's two sleeps, or 40 hours to go.
          And a whole weekend to get out and drive

            Delivery day has arrived, only 10 hours to go. The last few hours wait is going to feel longer than the 5 months I have already waited, I just know it....

                Picked it up after work today. Better than I imagined, it looks fabulous. I'll get a couple of pics for here on the weekend.
