  • Luke's MKIV GTi

    Hey everyone.
Im Luke from Adelaide, Australia. And I just purchased a 2000 MK IV GTi. I have been a VW fan for a few years now but have been waiting for the right time to find the car I wanted, and now I have. Unfortunately I do not have possession of the car just yet, I have to wait another 2 days to pick it up.
The car is metallic black and has only done 92,XXXkms. I got a full RAA check done on the car so I know what is wrong and there are a few things that need attending to. Which some help from the forum will be appreciated.

    These problems are:
    -Dipstick is broken
-Minor oil leak from the rocker cover gasket
-Front Rotors and pads need replacing
-A few interior bits are broken including cup holder!

Other than that the car's paint is mint and it runs like a dream. I don't have any photos at this stage but I will post some up when I get this car. I am a 4th year Apprentice Vehicle Spry Painter with the MTA working for Smiths Holden Bodyshop. I love what I do so I can always touch up the golf anytime thats needed. I am also a big fan of the air-cooled Volkswagens, I've owned a 71 Type 3 Squareback and loved that car. I have been trying to find a 67 Type 3 fastback so I can restore it and drive it like it used to be.

Future plans for my new GTi:
    -Fix the above problems
-Coilover kit for handling and ride height
-Wheels, but not sure on size or what ones just yet. Im thinking later model VW or porsche wheels. Depending on money though
    -GTi front lip
    -Engine upgrades including bigger turbo

Thanks for reading and as soon as the car is in my possession I will upload some photos.

    Thanks
    Luke
