  • Happy Passat Wagon Owner

G'day, I've been a "passive" member of the forum for a few years now and used quite a few tips and snippets from the Passat forum when negotiating my new Passat 125TDI. I've just clocked up 76000km and still on my 1st set of Continental Sports Contact 2 tyres - very impressive. I'm extremely happy with all aspects of the TDI and regularly exceed 1300km on a tank of diesel - very very impressive.

I'm now looking to grab some quotes on replacment tyres & once again expect to get some great tips from the Passat forum.

    Cheers Cunjie

I have the Passat CC and had the Continental self sealing tyres. Lasted only 55000 kms with country driving. Replacement for these 18's were a steep $650 each, so gave them a miss. Got a set of Toyos and have now done 65000 kms and they still have more than 1/2 of the tread left. A little noisier, but can live with this. Agree that economy is outstanding for a car of its size.

Just replaced the Continentals with Kumho KU27s which are said to be super quite & long lasting & were much cheaper than the OEMs. My last tank of diesel gave me over 1300km to the tank, so keen to see if the new tyres reduce the mileage.
