Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • WA New MK4 golf

hey all, im anton and i just bought myself my first car, a mint condition 2003 mk4 2.0 generation golf. Its got 60k on the odo.

im looking forward to contributing to the forums (where i can, which will be very little at the beginning)

i have some plans for the golf.

since it is only the 2.0 and not gti I have decided to focus more on the aesthetics of the car and not soo much on performance, but hey im open to all options.

    Future Plans included:
    • lowered
    • rims and tires
    • headlights
    • front grill
    • and any performance upgrades that are suggested to me that are realistic
    • colour code my door handles (need price and place for that if anyone knows)

Nice looking car and seriously low kays.
    I would do
    • lowered
    • rims and tires
    • colour code door handles
    • Maybe rear spoiler

    and leave it at that.
    MK4 GTI - Sold
    MK5 Jetta Turbo - Sold
    MK5 Jetta 2.Slow - Until it dies.

haha, i was in the market for a mazda 3 and was going to go buy one when on the day i saw this up for sale. As they say, the rest is history.

you wouldn't happen to know the price to colour code the door handles and were i could do it in Wa mate?

where in WA are you, some of the boys on here have had some colourcoding and work done from over there.
as above: wheels, lowering, bit of colour coding will have the car looking sweet and standing out from the crowd

Hey mate welcome to the forum
Nice looking Mk IV you've found there and such low KM!
With the door handles, wouldn't a normal paint shop be able to do it? Piero's in North Perth (Charles St) get good review as do Lombadi in Carlisle but I think they're a bit pricy. There have been a couple of paint threads on here for WA members so have a search - probably a few other recommendations around.

There's Perth cruise & BBQ coming up on 25th March - come and say hi!

            Cheers
