Search on carsales.com.au - should give you an idea.

Are you selling or is this for insurance or something else?

      Thanks Ryan_R !

Yes, i am looking at trading it in / selling it and planning to upgrade to a GTI (new one). I did search on carsales.com.au and the pricing was reasonable between 20k to 24k average, Redbook was a shocker though (lowest was 15k average).

I have been driving 118 for the last 2 and half years and its been great so far. Apart from the famous rumour in the market that 2009 118 's has a faulty engine (which luckily i havent witnessed so far touchwood) i cant see any issue in this car. I am only worried that this rumour would undervalue the car.

I wanted to have an idea on the market value before i go and see a dealer, hence my original question.

Mines a 118 TSI Comfortline Manual with Original VW Sports shocks upgrade, Rear tinted glass, 17 "Seattle alloy wheels.

      Thanks

Well a dealer will rip you off compared to selling privately - where most buyers would be unfamiliar with those issues unless they did a lot of research. I've been more than happy with my '09 118TSI (although it's more of a 151TSI now)

There's a lot of money for me to lose in upgrading, esp with the Mk7 Golf/GTI out soonish, so I'll probably wait and perhaps order some extended warranty to see me through.
