Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    NSW Almost an owner

    Hi all,

    Currently in the negotiation stage of puchasing my first VW. Most likely a new 90TSI although would prefer the 103TDI

    We will just have to wait and see how much the dealers are willing to negotiate.

    I'll let you know when I become an actual owner.

    Update to the buying negotiations:

    Well, the very competitive discount from Central Coast Volkswagen (David Crofton) in addition to the free on-road costs and the inclusion of a bunch of free accessories (Mats, mudflaps, weathershields etc) has allowed me to purchase the 103TDI which I (and the wife) are very happy about. Should take delivery on Monday. First time VW owner having been a BMW, Alfa guy previously, I am looking forward to trouble free and fun motoring from this little diesel.

        Well delivery happened on Wednesday (tied up at work) but worth the wait. I have to say that I am very impressed with 103TDi and the DSG. There is a bit of turbo lag but once it winds up from a standing start it has great pull. Having only driven it for about 30 mins but really impressed so far.

        Looking forward to getting some time behind the wheel and driving around some of our nice windy roads around the vineyards.
