Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • I love my Jetta, but I want more from it!

I am the proud owner of a 2006 Turbo Diesel Jetta.
Bought the car new as a work vehicle. So far I have done 147,000 km in it with no problems (touch wood).
It has had all of its factory services, but nothing else.
It has full leather, Electric seats, Sat Nav (aftermarket which I'm not so keen on but is OK) etc.

As I finally own it this year, and I've decided I like it so much I want to keep it, I want to:
Put a HID Light Kit in it as I didn't go the HID kit when I bought the car.
Maybe swap out the chinese SatNav (which looks works OK as a SatNav, Bluetooth, USB, CD/DVD, but the radio is Crap) for a RNS510. - Any thoughts about whether to or not would be appreciated.

Otherwise I LOVE IT! Best car I have ever had.

I live in the mountains behind Brisbane, so the car gets a workout on a regular basis.

    Rob
