Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC 60,000km major service for MkV R32 recommendations and costs

    Hi all!
I'm looking to have my mkv R32 dsg serviced for its 60,000km interval.
Im reluctant to have it serviced again at camberwell volkswagen, and they quoted me approximately $1700 but am unsure of any other recommendations.

I called volkspower for a quote and they quoted me $380 which is a bit of a shock considering the difference.
Ive had a look around in the forums and most people have had to pay over $1k for the 60,000 service.
Any ideas as to why volkspower is so cheap?

Any ideas as to any other vw specialists in melbourne that I could go to?
Does anybody have experiences with audvolks?

    Thanks a lot,

    Peter

hey mate, the dealerships will do that to you!

i'd call volkspower and just double-confirm that, but that's a little cheaper than my 60,000 with volkspower (polo tdi) - my service was something like $630 iirc (but of course the service checklist for 60,000 might be different for your car).

call em up and double confirm - they're a good outfit who know what they're doing.

No timing belt to worry about - but who knows what the shops have quoted on. Get a list of things and do a side by side comparo.
