I have been a VW owner since mid 2011. I currently own a 2011 Passat Wagon 118TSI. I purchased this ex-demo with 4000km for $37k and I love it! I have also ordered a Polo GTI 5 door with current ETA at approx mid 2012 at this stage.

I'm a convert as well. Replaced my Subaru Outback (H6) with a Tiguan TDI DSG. Only thing I miss is the cargo space as the outback had more.
