    Hi all,

Getting the formal intro out of the way. Currently own a Golf 118TSI, Sport Pack, ACC, Sunroof. Was looking to change to a 4WD but couldn't decide, then realised I love my Golf!

So, now trying to decide between an MY12.5 GTI with a bit of fruit (sunroof, leather, 18") or a stock MY12.5 Golf R. Change my mind about once a day

Given "fruit" adds little to resale value (as I found out with my current Golf), plus the MKVII GTI not too far away (Mid 2013?) a stock R will probably yield a much higher resale in around 2 years which is about the longevity of my cars.

    Anyway, appreciate anyone's thoughts.

    Welcome mate.
Hope we can get you out to some of our meets soon enough.

I eneded up with the tiguan because it was more practical for me than the R and it now makes more power and torque

welcome steve, seems everyone goes through this dilemma!

i can only give you an outsiders point of view. most people go for the extra power and awd of the r which slightly dampens the driving experience according to some. if i was looking for a new car, i'd go the r for the added grip. don't skimp on 'fruit' as you will always want it later and then it costs twice as much.

look forward to seeing you at some of our meets and events.

        Thanks for feedback.

DonJuan, how do you find the grip on your MkV GTI? I assume the APR Stage I has given it a significant power increase transmitting through those front wheels.
